'Tis the season: Blues get into the holiday spirit with building light display

DETROIT, Nov. 25, 2009 - A display depicting two giant holiday trees will illuminate Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan's 21-story downtown Detroit headquarters building through the end of the year to commemorate the joy of the holiday season. The festive light display continues a more than 30-year tradition at the Blues.
The 10-story high trees adorn both the north and south sides of the Blues' building on East Lafayette near I-375 in downtown Detroit. Both trees have 32 stars that are made of 22 colored light bulbs each.
Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan has a proud tradition of spotlighting important causes and special events with light displays, including a pink ribbon during October for Breast Cancer Awareness Month and a red ribbon display in February for American Heart Month.
