If you have a Blue Care Network prescription drug rider, you have prescription drug coverage. Your drug rider outlines the terms and conditions of your drug coverage. It also lists your copayment responsibility as a dollar amount or as a percentage of the total prescriptions cost and indicates when the copayment applies.
You can also view a list of products and services that aren’t covered through your BCN drug rider.
You can get up to a 30-day supply of medication for one copayment. You can also get up to a three-month (90-day) supply of your prescription at a retail pharmacy for only two copayments. To decrease waste and to ensure the drug and dose are right for you, an initial 30-day trial is required the month before a 90-day supply of a brand-name prescription is covered.
Specialty drugs are limited to a 30-day fill for Blue Care Network commercial members. The first fill of a select number of highly potent specialty drugs may be limited to a 15-day supply. If the member is able tolerate the drug, he or she can then go back to the pharmacy to receive the rest of the 15-day supply. Members who have filled prescriptions for at least a 15-day supply of these drugs in the past 180 days can continue to receive a full 30-day supply all at once.
This applies only to these oral oncology drugs:
