Helping members save money
Blue Care Network is committed to helping our customers save money. Some of the ways we're helping to keep health care costs low include:
- Offering prescription drug benefits that encourage the use of generic medications instead of more expensive, identical brand-name drugs. To learn more visit Brand-Name vs. Generic Drugs.
- Encouraging doctors to prescribe the less expensive alternative when they’re considering equally effective medications.
- Providing a mail order option that reduces members’ out-of-pocket expenses.
- Maintaining a drug formulary that includes medications we’ve determined are safe and effective.
- Covering over-the-counter generic Claritin and Prilosec OTC for members.
In collaboration with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan, we have also developed the following programs that not only help our members stay safe and healthy but also help them save money.
