BlueCaid of Michigan fraud, waste and abuse plan

Health care fraud and abuse adversely affect everyone by increasing the costs of health care services, supplies and benefit premiums. Billing errors and fraud consume millions of health care dollars each year. Our Fraud, Waste and Abuse Plan works in partnership with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan's Corporate and Financial Investigations (CFI) department to detect, prevent and investigate suspicious billing practices and health care fraud.

How to help identify fraud

You can help identify and prevent fraud by knowing what to look for when you receive health care services. Your provider should not demand payment before your medical services are rendered and should file claims only for services or medications that you have already received.

How to report fraud, waste or abuse

Any potential case of fraud, waste or abuse related to BlueCaid, a Medicaid plan, may be reported by phone or by mail. Information may be left anonymously.
