Not only are we the top-ranked Medicare plan in the state, BCN Advantage ranks among the highest rated health insurance plans in the nation, according to the National Committee on Quality Assurance’s Health Insurance Plan Rankings 2010–11: Medicare.

“We’re delighted because this rating is based not only on our clinical and treatment outcomes, it also reflects the voice of our customers,” said, Betsy Geis, director, BCN Advantage.

Prevention and treatment measures made up 60 percent of the total score, customer experience and satisfaction accounted for 25 percent and NCQA accreditation scores made up the remaining 15 percent of the Health Insurance Plan Rankings 2010-2011.

Paul W. Smith of WJR-760 AM’s The Paul W. Smith Show congratulated BCBSM President and CEO Dan Loepp on BCN Advantage being named the highest-ranked Medicare plan in Michigan.1 The interview took place at The Parade Company’s 11th Annual VIP Pancake Breakfast on Nov. 5, 2010.

NCQA – a private, nonprofit organization dedicated to improving health care quality – evaluated nearly 300 Medicare Advantage health plans nationwide and ranked 183 of those based on clinical performance, member satisfaction and NCQA accreditation.

BCN Advantage 2010 CAHPS® Scores

BCN Advantage is the number-one plan in the state in terms of members getting pneumonia vaccination.2

In the 2010 Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems®3 survey administered by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, BCN Advantage scored above the state average in five CAHPS overall ratings and composite measures, including:
