Some drugs require prior authorization
Certain medications require prior authorization (348K PDF), and certain clinical criteria must be met before they can be dispensed. The criteria for authorization are based on current medical information and the recommendations of Blue Care Network's Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee.
You may be required to pay additional out-of-pocket costs or a higher copayment if you do not have prior authorization. Your pharmacist or doctor can request prior authorization by calling our pharmacy help desk.
