Employers establish an HRA account to cover plan deductibles, coinsurances or both. Your HRA is based at your financial institution so you fund as you go. You choose how much to allocate, whether to allow the HRA to carry over from one plan year to another and what the funds cover. Weekly withdrawals are electronic, and you receive weekly and monthly accounting reports.
BCN sets up and administers the account at no charge to the group. We integrate processing for claims and HRA balances, posting the information for members online, and we pay providers directly.
Members carry a single ID card with a BCN HMO-HRA designation. They receive a single Explanation of Benefits statement that tracks their medical deductible obligations and their HRA balances. They can also view these details online at MiBCN.com through Member Secured Services. Online tools and resources and other vehicles provide valuable tips on how to manage care.
Providers bill as usual and are paid as usual. There is no wait time for HRA payments.
*The BCN HRA is not available with Healthy Blue LivingSM, and is only available with the Blue Elect Self-Referral OptionSM for groups over 100.
