The BCN Advantage provider network includes thousands of health care practitioners in a structured network of contracted primary care physicians, specialists and hospitals to help your retirees get the right care at the right time and place.

Your retirees have the security of knowing that their coverage will be accepted at each and every visit to a network doctor or hospital.

Members choose a primary care physician who will help them navigate the often complex health care system. Primary care physicians:

Provide routine and preventive health care services
Coordinate your retirees’ care
Provide referrals to specialists when needed

Care while traveling

As BCN Advantage members, your retirees will be covered for urgent and emergency care across the nation and around the world.

Also, BCN Advantage members who travel outside of Michigan but within the U.S. have access to both routine and follow-up care. With our travel benefits, members have peace of mind knowing their card carries the security and recognition of the Blue Cross^® and Blue Shield^®.

Important information about this plan

The references to BCN Advantage HMO-POS Evidence of Coverage and riders on this website are intended as an overview of BCN Advantage HMO-POS group products. This is not a contract. An official description of benefits is contained in applicable BCN Advantage Evidence of Coverage and riders. Payment amounts are based on the BCN-approved amount, less any applicable deductible and/or copayment amounts required by the plan. This coverage is provided pursuant to a contract with the federal government. Services must be provided or arranged by the member’s primary care physician or health plan.

BCN Advantage HMO-POS is a health plan with a Medicare contract and is open to all Medicare beneficiaries with both Medicare Part A and Part B who enroll as part of a group. The group sponsor or member must continue to pay the Part B premium. Members must use BCN Advantage HMO-POS providers for covered services. Benefits are subject to exclusions and limitations. Our contract with the federal government is renewed annually; the availability of coverage beyond the current contract year is not guaranteed.
