About the NCQA

The National Committee for Quality Assurance is a nationally recognized, independent nonprofit organization that measures the quality of health care and health plans in the United States. The rigorous accreditation process is a voluntary review process and has been well received by the health maintenance organization community, with nearly half of the country's HMOs participating.
