Excellent accreditation
Since 2000, Blue Care Network has consistently received an Excellent Accreditation from NCQA. Excellent Accreditation is the highest level of accreditation awarded. Survey teams of physicians and managed care experts conduct NCQA's accreditation survey process. In addition to an on-site review, NCQA evaluates annual data on key clinical and service measures such as:
- Mammography screening rates
- Smoking cessation efforts
- Consumer satisfaction.
Accredited disease management programs
Blue Care Network also received full patient and practitioner accreditation from NCQA for our disease management programs. Our accredited programs include:
- Asthma
- Congestive heart failure
- Adult diabetes
- Cardiovascular
Patient safety
Blue Care Network participates in partnerships and initiatives across the health care system to reduce medical errors and make all health care settings safer for people seeking care. We contribute to this important effort through:
- Educating members to be active guardians of their own care
- Advising physicians of safe practices
- Participating with health care coalitions and collaborative councils
- Developing internal risk management programs
